ShiftPay Privacy Policy

Effective date: 14 October 2026
Last updated: 14 October 2026

This policy explains what information the ShiftPay iOS app uses. The short version: ShiftPay doesn't collect any personal data.

1. Who I am

ShiftPay is made by Mason, an individual developer based in the United Kingdom. Mason is the controller for any personal data covered by this policy. You can contact me at admin@masonmade.co.uk.

2. Information stored on your device

The app saves your shift pattern, any day changes (swaps, overtime, holiday, sickness), your pay rates and enhancements, your tax, NI, pension and student loan settings, your holiday allowance, and your reminder preferences. This information stays in the app's storage on your iPhone. It is never sent to me or to anyone else. Take-home pay figures are worked out on your device and are estimates only.

3. Notifications

Shift and sleep reminders are local notifications. Your iPhone schedules them itself, and no push server is used. You can turn them off in the app or in iOS Settings.

4. Network use

The only thing the app downloads is the list of UK bank holiday dates from the UK government's public service at gov.uk. The app sends no personal data with this request. As with any web request, gov.uk receives your device's IP address under its own privacy notice.

5. Sharing your rota

Your rota is only shared if you choose to share it. The app then creates a link or code containing your shift pattern and opens the iOS share sheet, and you choose who gets it. The app doesn't upload it anywhere. Anyone who receives the link can see the pattern it contains.

6. Keeping and deleting your data

Your data stays on your device until you delete it in the app or delete the app. Deleting the app removes all of its data. Because I hold none of your data, I have nothing to delete or export on my side.

7. Your rights

Under UK GDPR you have rights to access, correct and delete your personal data. Because ShiftPay keeps everything on your device, you can use those rights directly in the app. If you have a question or a complaint, email me. You can also complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ico.org.uk).

8. Children

ShiftPay is meant for working adults. It isn't aimed at children, and it collects no data from anyone.

9. Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, I'll post the new version on this page and update the date at the top.

Launch email list (website only)

If you sign up on masonmade.co.uk to be told when an app launches, your email address (and your name, if you give it) is sent to me by FormSubmit. It is held in my developer email inbox and used only to announce app launches. I won't share it or use it for anything else. To be removed, email admin@masonmade.co.uk and I'll delete it. This doesn't apply to the app itself, which collects nothing.
